Can I hire a minibus without a driver?

No. Every Greenway Coach Services minibus goes out with one of our own PCV-licensed drivers. Self-drive would mean licence checks, a card deposit and one of your group giving up their evening, so we keep the driver on the vehicle.

Do I need a D1 licence to travel in a 16-seater?

No. D1 entitlement applies only to whoever is driving, and that is always us. Nobody in your group needs to check the back of their licence before booking.

How much does minibus hire cost?

All-in half-day rates: £179 for a 6-seat MPV, £215 for an 8-seater, £265 for a 12-seater, £310 for a 16-seater, £335 for a 17-seater and £385 for a 19-seater. Coaches from £445. Each figure covers four hours with the driver, fuel, VAT and insurance included, and is charged per vehicle rather than per seat.

How much luggage fits in a 16-seater minibus?

Twelve large cases behind the rear seats, with soft bags on the parcel shelves. Sixteen passengers each carrying a full-size case need the high-roof 17-seater and its 14-case boot instead.

Is there a minimum hire period?

Four hours on any time-based hire, so a short two-hour job is still charged as four. Airport transfers sit outside that and are priced per journey.

Do you charge for airport waiting time?

The first sixty minutes after your flight lands is free, timed from the actual touchdown rather than your booked slot. Beyond that we bill in fifteen-minute blocks at the rate printed on your confirmation.

What is the difference between a minibus and a coach?

A minibus tops out at 19 seats, drives on ordinary roads and reaches residential streets and hotel doors. A coach starts at 24 seats, carries luggage underfloor and needs a proper bay. Roughly nine in ten of our bookings fit in a minibus.

Are your minibuses wheelchair accessible?

Part of the fleet is. Ramp and tail-lift minibuses with floor anchor points are available from 8 seats upward at no extra charge. Mention it when you enquire, because these are specific vehicles rather than an accessory.

Can one minibus do multiple pickups?

Yes, up to four collection addresses are included as standard and it is cheaper than separate vehicles. Send the postcodes and the driver runs them in the order that makes geographic sense.

How do I pay and when?

Card or bank transfer, with nothing taken until the vehicle is confirmed. Most bookings run as a twenty per cent deposit now and the balance on the day. Schools, clubs and companies can be set up on fourteen-day invoice terms.
